Public Information Meeting – Safe Mobility 2050
The Johnson City Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (MTPO) will host a public information meeting on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, to gather community input on the Safe Mobility 2050: The Johnson City Metropolitan Transportation & Safety Plan. The meeting will take place from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Langston Centre, Second Floor Auditorium (315 Elm St, Johnson City, TN 37601).
The Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) is a long-range, federally required plan that guides transportation improvements in the Johnson City area through the year 2050. It will evaluate existing transportation conditions, identify future needs, and recommend projects and strategies for roads, transit, bicycle, and pedestrian facilities. Projects must be included in the MTP to be eligible for federal transportation funding.
The April 21 meeting will be held in an open-house format, with no formal presentation. Community members can stop by at any time during the meeting to review materials, ask questions, and share feedback directly with Johnson City MTPO staff and representatives.
Residents and stakeholders may also view materials, share priorities and ideas, and submit comments on the Safe Mobility 2050 Plan online at https://tpgengage.mysocialpinpoint.com/johnson-city-mtp.
The public comment period for the plan will be open from April 6 through May 6, 2026.
