What is the Metropolitan Transportation Plan?

One of the requirements by federal legislation of the MTPO is the development and maintenance of a Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) for its region every five years. This plan is an update to the previous plan, the  2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan, to reflect current and future transportation conditions to 2050 for the Johnson City MTPO Region. The current MTP update was adopted on December 13, 2022 by the MTPO Executive Board. Please feel free to view the 2050 MTP below. Executive Summary of the Plan

The Executive Summary was presented to the Johnson City MTPO Executive Board on December 13, 2022 and provides a concise version of the full Plan.
